The term "useful idiot" was used by Von Mises to describe experts with naïve views but has now reversed itself to identify people like Trump who have become useful idiots because of their unproven adoption of ideas and programs based on naive assumptions or contrarian positions.
Trump fights and mocks climate change, migration, legalization, taxation and other agendas without any proof or opposing science. All in the name of financial benefit. His foreign policy is laissez faire for oppressive regimes and insults for progressive nations.
The opposite of Libertarian or free market ethics where rule of law and fairness is a given to promote success. Strong trade partnerships with other free nations and defense of liberty has been a U.S. hallmark. Trump is actually undermining the basic engine of American success.
