I really take exception with the whole ‘Page didn’t meet Igor Sechin so the dossier sucks! argument. He met with one of Rosneft’s top executives and they discussed his private conversations with Sechin. It’s nearly the same thing.
Page stopped helping the CIA in 2013. He continued to meet with RU intel officers. He flew to RU and had secret meetings. He told an FBI informant he had a blank checkbook from RU. He said that a RU government official pledged him $1M. The early FISAs were entirely justified.
Now, the FBI certainly fucked up by not including all of the evidence in the later FISAs. And that has to be dealt with. But Page is in tight with the RU govt, even if it hasn’t risen to the level of being an agent beyond a reasonable doubt.
I also tend to believe if there was an active FISA on Page during his July 2016 trip to Moscow, things would have ended up differently.
