total of one hour is allotted for oral argument. The cases
will be set for argument in the March 2020 argument session."
Decision likely in June, just months before the election. 2020 will be fucking insane.

It’s not legal to solicit foreign help in an election. The President’s lawyer is doing just that right now.

I’m determined to find full justice for Jamal Khashoggi. His life was too important.
I sat down with @ericlevai and spoke with a whistleblower inside an Israeli private intel company. Employees fear that the company may have something to do Khashoggi’s demise. There are emails proving that the company had Khashoggi on their radar in 2018.
This is what it essentially boils down to. That’s me speaking, the whistleblower Matt Penn top right, and @ericlevai bottom right.

I can’t tell you how hard we’ve worked on this, and above all, how brave the whistleblower is. Really hope you all will give it a chance tomorrow.
Think about the worldwide implications of an Israeli private intel company claiming they recruited Khashoggi and then lying about it. As the company’s founder was meeting with the Saudi’s who eventually killed him.
Also: This will be on YouTube through the weekend. Will be available in podcast form next week.

It’s really important not to read too much into the fact that #SCOTUS is taking these cases. Historically, these are cases the Justices feel compelled to take up out of deference to the presidency even when they ultimately rule against the President (see Nixon; Clinton v. Jones).

#BREAKING: #SCOTUS issues stay of House subpoena for @realDonaldTrump’s financial records in DC case, but requires a cert. petition to be filed by Thursday, December 5 (well before it would otherwise be due).

No dissents were noted from the unsigned order.
Here’s my thread from Friday on what to expect, and why this is a short-term win for Trump, but not necessarily indicative that he’s ultimately going to win on the merits:

Now, the subpoena remains frozen pending the Court’s consideration of (1) whether to hear @realDonaldTrump’s appeal; and (2) if so, how to rule on the merits.

Either way, the time limit in the order means such review would take place before the end of this Term—by June 2020.

The only #SCOTUS decision today is a unanimous one in Mount Lemon Fire District v. Guido. Ginsburg writes, affirming the 9th Circuit. Kavanaugh did not participate.

South Dakota plans to execute Rodney Berget this afternoon. His lawyers are asking SCOTUS to halt the execution and consider whether he is eligible for execution due to questions surrounding his alleged intellectual disability. Petition: documentcloud.org/documents/5023…
