On 30th Nov @ 12:15am PST, Advocate Rashid Ilyas posted a message in the FB group "Wuklaa Ittihad Group (Lahore Bar Association") inciting violence against Young Doctors Association (YDA) against PPC sections 153-A, 425 and 505. Archived copy of post: archive.vn/LTO6A

Advocate Rashid Ilyas along with two other colleagues is an administrator of this Facebook group.
Advocate Rashid Ilyas practices in the Lahore High Court and is a member of Mian M. Ilyas & Associates as per his business card posted as a cover photo on Facebook.
Please note that in his provocative post, Advocate Rashid Ilyas tagged two colleagues namely (1) Advocate Waqas Ahmed and (2) Advocate Arslan Khan Swati. Details in succeeding tweets.

As a citizen of Pakistan, I request authorities concerned including @OFFICIALDPRPP, @PunjabPoliceCPO, @UsmanAKBuzdar, @PakPMO to investigate the matter in light of these open source leads.
@OFFICIALDPRPP @PunjabPoliceCPO @UsmanAKBuzdar @PakPMO I would like to reiterate once again that not a single piece of information has been extracted through unlawful/ illegal means. All these bits and pieces were collected through publicly-accessible and publicly-visible sources.
@OFFICIALDPRPP @PunjabPoliceCPO @UsmanAKBuzdar @PakPMO It is a universally-accepted rule among practitioners/ trainers of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Social Media Intelligence (SOCMINT) that any bit of information set to public visibility denotes a desire to 'be seen' and does not in any way constitute a breach of privacy.

While one appreciates and admires the ambitions of Ms Tania Aidrus (@taidrus), a few important realities need to be reiterated [Thread]
All this 'Digital Pakistan' campaigning is futile until and unless we have a National Cyber Security Strategy and Policy in place, which could provide an over-arching framework through which R&D programmes, fintech investments and e-governance policymaking can be prioritised.
A higher-level multi-stakeholder policy direction is the basic prerequisite to provide any meaningful long-term guidance. Mere political sloganeering won't yield anything resourceful except short-lived brownie points.

Open Source Insights: One of the key project supervisors/architects of the WhatsApp exploitation spyware 'Pegasus' (developed by NSO) is Michael Herman [Thread]
Michael's portfolio is impressive. During his tenure as "Mobile Group Leader" (March 2013 till December 2016) at NSO, he oversaw the development of iOS and Android exploits through 15 team members, as per his LinkedIn profile.
He started his professional career with Unit 8200 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps, renowned world over for regularly producing a talented pool of software development and cyber security experts. Michael's stint at NSO had nothing to do with his previous military service.

Natalia Veselnitskaya had been working on the Prevezon case for years, but in 2014 she involved herself drafting of the official response to the DoJ's invocation of a treaty for legal assistance.

She sent the evidence that she worked with the Kremlin to SDNY prosecutors.

Following the instant judicial affirmation of the constitutionality and legality of the Executive Order 6 (EO6), President @MBuhari has mandated the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice to implement the Order in full force.
To this end, enforcement procedures are currently in place by which the NIS and other security agencies have placed no fewer than 50 high profile persons directly affected by EO6 on watch-list and restricted them from leaving the country pending the determination of their cases.

At the outset of the #Brexit process, most people assumed that a deal on #police and #judicial co-operation was easier to get than one on #trade. Time has shown this is not the case. Ongoing co-op on #JHA is one of the few items yet to be agreed on #withdrawal deal. Why?
Well, because the #EU and #UK's opening positions in the #negotiation are incompatible: Britain wants a #bespoke agreement with the EU, a la #Schengen, but is not willing to accept #ECJ or #EUCharter. EU wants to replicate existing models. What to do?
