Law student/ baby lawyer tip for building a professional wardrobe:

Find one item from one brand that you love that comes in a bunch of patterns and colors. Try on in store to find your size in that item. Set alerts for that item in your size on Poshmark, Ebay, and ThredUp. 1/
You get fantastic items that you know will work for you at a teeeeny fraction of retail price. AND consignment is good for the environment. (Making my closet more sustainable has been one of my recent projects.) 2/
Here are a few things I do regular checks for and how the prices shake out:

-Land’s End Ponte Sheath Dresses (Pockets!), regularly $90. I usually get them on consignment ~$15 shipped

-J Jill Ponte Pencil Skirts (can you tell I love Ponte?) regularly $80, ~$10 consignment. 3/
-Banana Republic Wool Blazer, regular $100 (though their prices vary wildly because sales), usually get it on consignment for about $20

-Betabrand Dress Pant Yoga Pants, regularly around $80, depending on style, usually find on consignment for about $30.

Consignment can be hit or miss, but most of these sites have refund policies if your item wasn’t as described. I do much more online consignment than I care to admit, and I can say I’ve been happy with the quality of items about 95% of the time.

Happy shopping!!!
Oh also, this makes making outfits SO MUCH EASIER. I basically have only one style of dress, cardigan, pants, & blazers & 3ish styles of top all in different colors/patterns. So I know how everything works together and really only have to think about color/pattern matching!
(But if you wear my size in Land's End sheath dresses, you are forbidden from using this tip, whoops sorry. 😂)
