This #SundayMorning , as the House prepares for a floor vote on articles of impeachment next week, we're turning our eyes towards the Senate.

Is there any hope that the GOP will conduct a fair and impartial trial based on the evidence?

Here's how impeachment in the Senate is supposed to work:
First, Congress investigates.

Third, the Senate tries the accused.

(9) Impeaching Trump requires a herculean shift in the Senate that just doesn't seem possible.

But let's be clear. It's not just Trump on trial. It's the entire GOP & the Senate. And in the end, American voters will be judge, jury & executioner in 2020.

Hey actors & actresses.

My 13 year old came out of his first high school theater audition in tears. He forgot some lines to his monologue & is devastated.

Can you tell him your worst audition story or give some advice?

He’s always loved theater & I don’t want him to give up.
Here he is as one of the leads in his middle school production of The Little Prince. I think it was hard to go from being cast as a lead to not even making the cut in high school.
When I asked him why this audition was so important, he said it was Richard III, his favorite Shakespeare play. He’s a serious Shakespeare nerd.

He’s bummed because the high school theater department does a LOT of musicals and this was his chance for this year to do a real play.

For those asking exactly when a fetal heartbeat can be detected externally, it's usually after 6 weeks that the heart begins to beat and then it can't be heard outside the womb by a doppler until after 10 weeks.

Finally, the committee seeks grand jury testimony about actions taken by former WH counsel Donald McGahn; this last request probably anticipates the committee’s rumored plans to seek an order compelling McGahn to testify.

A note on #impeachment -

In a court of law, under non-presidential circumstances, impeachment is a tool litigation attorneys use to discredit the opposing side's witnesses at trial. When said witness takes the stand under oath attys. present evidence contrary to what the witness
claims. This weakens the other side's case by discrediting impeached witnesses's testimony. Once a witness has been impeached - by presentment of inconsistent testimony - the judge/jury can no longer use the impeached witnesses's testimony in reaching a verdict.
Simply put, they aren't trustworthy. In the case of Presidential impeachment that broad definition of impeachment applies, but the impeachment tool is used for a very different purpose. Under the Constitution, a sitting President cannot be tried in a court of law for anything.
