And there is one thing that unites them above all else: an overwhelmingly dislike of Donald J. Trump, & by extension, the party he represents. Which is why I said/say, when it comes to the 2016 election, the GOP won the battle, but lost the war with Trump's takeover of the party.
Between them, there are 160 million Millennials & Gen Zs. They are the least white, most (policy) liberal generation in our country's history. And in my upcoming voter file analysis in @newrepublic I'll show Gen Z increased their turnout, on average, by 500%. They will be pivotal
in D gains in the House and Senate in '20 and in Trump's loss. But what is more important, I think, is their potential long-term impact. BC their interest may wane again once Trump is gone. But like those that came before them, eventually, they will age into participation & will
replace the Silent and Boomers who pass away. And unless the Republican Party completely redefines it's image among these voters (again, only 1/2 of Gen Z are white and these two gens are the two-best educated, another predictor of Dem support) they are facing a long term crisis.
