I don't think I've ever seen a political act as phony as Democrats pretending to be grave and reluctant about moving ahead with impeachment, and there's been a LOT of bipartisan competition over the years.
I know you folks in DNC Media feel you have to keep pumping out ridiculous spin about gravely serious Democrats reluctantly stepping up to the impeachment plate, but believe me, nobody with a room-temperature IQ is buying it. You're making fools of yourselves for nothing.
You probably think the "grave and reluctant" act will help cushion the political blow for Dems when impeachment fails, but you couldn't be more wrong. Look at the polls, look at the Dems getting skinned alive by their angry constituents.
The only noticeable effect of the media helping Democrats pretend this is anything but a partisan clown show is going to be an even GREATER loss of trust in the media. You really don't want to be in the laughingstock zone right now, fellas, not with an election around the corner.
Impeachment is a purely partisan battle. The Dems will most likely win with raw numbers in the House, then lose the whole ball game in the Senate. That's the only story here. Who do you think you're influencing by fluffing the Dems as if they were serious statesmen?
Dem partisans - most of your dwindling customer base, media - are treating Impeachment Day like a Yuletide holiday, lustily bellowing their hatred of Trump. Republicans are mad as hell and see right through the "somber" charade. Indies bailed on impeachment during the hearings.
The somber act is solely and entirely meant for a Beltway audience, and obvious truth is only going to further energize people disgusted with the Swamp and the media orgs that glide over it on luxury airboats.
Trump is coming off as the only player in this farce who cares about anyone in the audience outside D.C. and the coastal media hubs. You've set him up with exactly the narrative he wanted for the 2020 election. He couldn't have paid his own consultants to do it better. /end
