RE: GLOBAL DEHUMANIZATION OF MUSLIMS

The end does not justify the means, at least in Islam, even in Engineering 😊. Thus, the overall worth of a matter does not depend on the outcome, but how did the outcome come to be.

As excellently expounded by Imam Malik (RH):
“Nothing will put this Ummah straight except what has put the earlier generation of this Ummah straight.” Although, the Glorious Qur’an is not a book of history, a significant portion of it contains the history of the past generations and is regarded by modern historians,
according to Gunnar Sevelius, as a pillar of history, in his book, “The Nine Pillars of History”. Thus, the greatest disservice many Muslims do to themselves is abandoning the method followed by the earlier generations of Muslims for ways out. As a result, they, out of
Inexperience begins to fight against the same course they claim to be supporting. The history of persecution of Muslims, is not new, even in conventional history books, for those that care to read. For instance, in his book, “Communities of Violence- Persecution of Minorities
in the Middle Ages”, David Nirenberg has explained open persecution of Muslims in many civilizations. An instance he gave was the position of Muslims in Valencia, how fear of an inexistent power due to their growing number legitimize an anti-Muslim riot, most notoriously in
1276 and 1455, sacking Muslims from their homes, killing and maiming. The disastrous Christian crusade of 1329 to 1334, preceded by numerous attacks upon Muslim farms near Oriola in 1320 to 1327 and so many of such clear persecutions are well documented in the books of history.
My point? These are not new events, as Muslims are facing today all over the world. Well, the earliest Muslims faced same; the Noble Prophet (SAW) and his companions all suffered the same persecution to the point that he had to leave his birthplace, a place he loved so much,
and become an immigrant in another city, and many of his companions were tortured to the point of death. All these persecutions did not continue forever, at least until the religion became grounded with the conquers, especially those championed by Umar Bn Khattab (RA) during his
Khilafah. This brings us to the first question: METHODOLOGY is everything, and in the light of the wise statement of Imam Malik (RH), that “Nothing will fix the present generation of this Ummah except what has fixed the earlier generations of this Ummah”. Lest I forget,
I don’t want to believe that by “rhetoric”, you mean -lacking sincerity or meaningful content- in your tweet. This can only be, probably borne out of obliviousness or deliberate aberration of what you chose not to know. For instance, there is an authentic Hadith, reported by
Imam Muslim in his Authentics, Hadith number 2956. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), that the Prophet (SAW) said:

“The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever”.

It won’t reduce anything from you if you choose to learn the exact text and
context of the Hadith you reduced to rhetoric. To put the records straight, if you check the explanations of that Hadith in “Fath al-Mulhim”, the explanations of Saheeh Muslim, you will see what that Hadith (not rhetoric) stands for. In a brief text, it means:
The believer is ever mindful of Allah (SWT), and thus he/she is never free to do whatever pleases him/her. Therefore, the world feels like a prison to them (not hell). A disbeliever however doe not believe in Allah or is never mindful of Allah & therefore does whatever they like
and can go to whatever extent without looking back. This feels more like a paradise. To further explain this same simple concept, Imam Nawawi (RH) in his explanations of the same Hadith in his book, “Sharh al Nawai ‘ala Saheeh Muslim”, he said:
“The believer is imprisoned and prohibited in the world from forbidden desires and disapproved acts, being responsible to do laborious acts of obedience.” I do not see anywhere “hell” appears in aby of these Hadiths though, nor scholarly explanations.
Back to methods and methodologies. The deeply problematic and ineffective ways that so-called “Muslim Reformists” approach the matters of the Ummah remain a bottleneck to the advancement of the Islamic Civilization, as we see it today.
As part of an ongoing conversation and debate, many Muslim writers tend to push their “Methods” as superior although it contradicts everything that the earlier generations have used. A diligent read through “The Muslim Conquest of Iberia” will open so many holes that hitherto
are close to the eyes of many. Many people laughably tend to present LOGIC and so-called INTELLECTUALISM as matters that should lead the discourse. No Intellectualism can counter the divine logic presented by the Creator Himself. The works of Ibn Sina’ (d. 1037), like his
popular book, “Kitaab al-Shifa’ (Book of Cure)” has extensively classified how logic, natural philosophy, mathematics, and metaphysics work. What I find interesting is that no logic or manmade philosophy can bring succor to the Ummah as will the divine solutions.
How many of us read from such sources and study to understand sources that challenge our opinions and “logics”? Until we direct our discourse in the right direction and pick the method embarked by the previous generations in designing a way forward for the Ummah,
we will remain entangled with our present situation created by ourselves.
