Why is it important that we affirm there are only 2 biological sexes, and that sex is immutable? Why can’t we just be kind, and allow that maybe the existence of transgender people and intersex people “proves” existence of a “third sex”, or that “sex is a spectrum”?
Because:

2/
Biological sex is of huge political significance for the 52% of the population who face endemic sex-based discrimination and epidemic sex-based violence.

Children/young people must be protected from ethically unsound/experimental medicalisation and ideological brainwashing.

3/
People with disorders of sexual development are hampered, not helped, by conflation of intersex with transgenderism, and by lack of clear factual understanding of their conditions.

4/
Humans are sexually dimorphic.
Rare intersex conditions = anomalous developments of dimorphic sex classes.
It is not possible to change sex.
There is no agreed scientific basis for someone having the mind of someone of the opposite sex, or being born in the wrong body.

6/
Determined at conception, objectively observed and recorded at birth, sex characteristics are almost always aligned with chromosomal sex.
When intersex features exist these indicate a medical condition.
Factual attributes are not assigned.
Intersex is not same as transgender.

Only 0.02% of births are intersex (ie sex is ambiguous or there’s a mismatch between sex genotype and phenotype).
See graph by @swipewright (he had to make the graph that tall for the 0.02% intersex category to even show up as a bar 1 pixel thick).
