So I hate to join MRA talking points but this person is not wrong.

Teaching our little girls to say trashy things about boys is not the road to equality.

Here's why:
1. She may someday really want a boyfriend and feel shamed for her desire - instead of guided by her family in how to have a healthy relationship. We don't need more shame, we need less!

2. No human is a waste of time. Saying this to your brother is "cute" but also cruel.
3. You are the parents of all your kids, regardless of gender. Your job is to build their self-confidence, pride in who they are, and teach them respect and compassion for others.

Teaching one to disrespect the other does the opposite of this on all points.
My teen son has told me many times that there isn't much bullying in his school except "mean girl" bullying.

"It's not like they directly attack anyone, it's more social. They want you to feel bad. They give you mean looks. They find ways to hurt certain people..."
That is bullying, even if it's not physical. And these girls do this to boys, too. They seem to do it equally.

When we encourage little girls to say, "Boys are a waste of time!" in any variant, we are teaching them to be mean little girls who grow up to be mean teen bullies.
Finally, this is, above all, just another Conservative female purity myth tactic.

These parents didn't teach their daughter this because they want her to focus on her studies and personal development.

They want her to maintain her "purity" and it's shame-filled dangerous trash.
*Caveat: I do think there is other types of bullying going on at his school that is more implicit and harder for a white teen to see.

But it doesn't look like Biff in Back to the Future and that's what he means.
