Just how impressive is Bernie Sanders? According to Twitter dot com, he founded the state of Israel in 1948 when he was only 7 years old. Hero. 
Because of his age, people sometimes confuse Bernie with the founder of the state of Israel. But that was David Ben-Gurion. Bernie is the guy who led the Jews out of Egypt and split the Red Sea.
He's lost a little hair over the years, but Bernie basically looks the same as he did when he was the first prime minister of Israel.

To be serious here for a second: what smears like this one against Bernie "founder of Israel" are really about is to imply that Jews like him are secret Israelis who want to kill the Palestinians. It's barely subtext at this point and should be recognized as the bigotry it is.
I'd say that if Bernie gets the nomination, we're going to see "Bernie is Mossad" rumors, but we've already been seeing "Bernie is a secret Israeli dual citizen" stuff since 2016, including in places like NPR(!). This is what Jews in public life have to deal with.
