2. Like I mentioned last week, we are currently in a season of prayer at The Elevation Church and so we chose to pray for our (future) marriages and relationships. #MrMrsBetterHalf
3. Last week, we shared prayer points for married couples, if you missed it, catch up here: bit.ly/3aic0Gk.This week, we’ll be praying for singles, particularly those who are desirous of marriage. #MrMrsBetterHalf
4. If you want to get married and build a happy home, it is important to sow seeds of prayer into your marriage and the life of your future spouse. In fact, the earlier you start praying, the better. #MrMrsBetterHalf
5. Prayer prepares your heart to be sensitive, and while praying you should expect God to speak to you and guide you in matters of conduct, your decision making and in all your endeavours. #MrMrsBetterHalf
6. So whether you are currently dating or not, regardless of your age, join me to commit your marital destiny into the hands of God. Take each point, check the scripture reference and pray about them sincerely. #MrMrsBetterHalf
7. Also pay it forward and share this thread with other singles you know who want to get married and have a fruitful relationship. #MrMrsBetterHalf
8. A) Pray for peace and joy. Pray against any anxiety about getting married or fear that you won’t find your mate. Cast this care upon the Lord. He cares for you and He has your back. 1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:7, Nehemiah 8:10 #MrMrsBetterHalf
9. Declare the word of the Lord that your marital destiny is blessed, that you will find a good spouse (Proverbs 18:22) and you will not lack your mate (Isaiah 34:16). Declare that you will enjoy inexplicable peace as concerns your marital destiny. #MrMrsBetterHalf
10. B) Pray for discernment of times and seasons. Sometimes people wait too late to look for a mate, other times people start too early. God makes all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). You will not miss your time. #MrMrsBetterHalf
11. Ask the Lord to help you understand your times and seasons and take due advantage of them. That the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened. 1 Corinthians 2:14, 1 John 4:1 #MrMrsBetterHalf
12. Pray that you will also be discerning about the people you meet. That you will not make destiny decisions based on only outward appearances. Pray that you will be able to hear God clearly at every point and follow His will. 1 Samuel 16:7 #MrMrsBetterHalf
13. C) Pray against distractions. That you will not be derailed by timewasters or the wrong kinds of people. That you will associate with the right people that will further connect you with your spouse. Proverbs 13:20 #MrMrsBetterHalf
14. Pray that you will also not be distracted by mindless activity, nor will you succumb to the temptation to go against God’s leading. That you will be laser-focused. That you will set your face like a flint and you will succeed. Proverbs 4:25-27. #MrMrsBetterHalf
15. D) Pray for necessary endings and new beginnings. Sometimes, some things need to end for you to step into another. Ask God to lead you out of every limiting belief, situation, relationship or environment. Isaiah 43:19 #MrMrsBetterHalf
16. E) Ask the Lord to help you grow and flourish in every good work. That you will develop the character not just of a good spouse but of a worthy child of God. That you will exhibit the fruit of the spirit. Hebrews 13: 20-21, Galatians 5: 22. #MrMrsBetterHalf
17. Ask God to develop a godly character in you as you journey through life. Pray that you will be diligent, honest, respectful, loving and genuinely helpful to people around you. Philippians 4:18 #MrMrsBetterHalf
18. F) Pray for self-control and the strength to resist sexual temptation. Receive grace to keep your body pure and holy in reverence to God till you are married. 2 Timothy 2:22, Matthew 26:41 #MrMrsBetterHalf
19. Ask the Lord to help you understand who you are and not base your self-esteem on responding to physical attraction alone. That you will not make destiny-altering decisions based on lust. 1 Corinthians 6:18 #MrMrsBetterHalf
20. G) Detach yourself from every lingering soul tie from past relationships by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let go every baggage that is keeping you from moving forward and flourishing. Revelation 21:4 #MrMrsBetterHalf
21. H) Pray that the works of your hands are prosperous! You should be single and successful. Pray that your career and/or business flourish. That you will be celebrated as a problem solver. Proverbs 16:3 #MrMrsBetterHalf
22. Pray that you are recognised in your industry; that your circle of influence grows exponentially and that you continually stand before kings and not mere men. Proverbs 22:29 #MrMrsBetterHalf
23. I) Bind every spirit of ungodly delay. That the Lord will make everything in your life beautiful in its time. Pray that your expectations are met and that you constantly stay in the will of God for your life. 2 Peter 3:9 #MrMrsBetterHalf
24. J) Pray for divine direction. That the Lord orders your steps and guides you in the way to go. That He will help you stay in His presence and that you will recognise his voice. John 10:27 #MrMrsBetterHalf
25. K) Pray for good health, fruitfulness and a sound mind. Pray that your body is blessed and fruitful and that you will enjoy good health and prosper even as your soul prospers. 3 John 2, Psalm 128:3. #MrMrsBetterHalf
26. L) Pray for your future spouse; that God will cause your paths to cross and help you to recognise him or her and vice versa. Pray for wisdom to build a good relationship that thrives in every aspect. Genesis 2:23 #MrMrsBetterHalf
27. Pray that your future spouse is protected and helped by God; that their career or business flourishes; that they remain in good health and a sound mind. Pray that s/he grows in the knowledge of God. Psalm 112:3 #MrMrsBetterHalf
28. Pray that your future spouse is a person of good character, gentle, kindhearted, Godfearing, with vision, integrity, etc. Pray that s/he is not a loose cannon and is an accountable and responsible person. Galatians 5:22, Proverbs 31, Proverbs 11:14. #MrMrsBetterHalf
29. Pray for their family, that they will constantly be a source of joy to those around them. Ask that the Lord will also open the eyes of their understanding and that they will recognise you. Acts 10:2 #MrMrsBetterHalf
30. M) Pray for your wedding celebration; that the day is blessed, the weather is perfect, you will not be indebted, God supplies all your needs, all your guests enjoy journey mercies and everything goes well. Ruth 1:16 #MrMrsBetterHalf
31. N) Pray that your marriage will be better than the wedding ceremony. That you both will become soulmates and truly cleave to each other. That you enjoy friendship in marriage. Matthew 19:6 #MrMrsBetterHalf
