There's nothing more offensive to me than these fatalists within the Resistance who spend all day yelling "Trump's going to get away with it all!" What the fuck is wrong with you? He's just about finished off, and you're handing him leverage by spewing that stupid shit. Stop it!

The senate impeachment trial isn’t about ousting him. It’s about driving his approval rating even lower, so his 2020 odds become even worse. An acquittal is a massive defeat for him, if it drives his approval rating lower.

There's no scenario in which this trial gains Trump any 2020 votes. Nothing works that way.

If he's acquitted with no witnesses, he'll lose some vote 2020 votes, because it'll be seen as a corrupt sham.

If he's acquitted with damaging witnesses, he'll lose a lot of 2020 votes.

Look at how Republican Senators are in disarray. Yelling at people in hallways and such. They're afraid this trial will hurt their own personal odds of reelection. They're trying to decide whether to damage Trump's 2020 odds by calling witnesses, just to insulate themselves.

Since the Senate isn't going to remove Trump anyway, you should almost be rooting for the trial to be a total farce. Then the average nonpartisan voter looks at it and says "this is bullshit, Trump and the republicans need to go."

Trump will lose this trial, if he's acquitted but his approval rating goes down or stays the same.

If you think Trump getting acquitted is somehow a win for him, you have zero understanding of how any of this works - and you should stop spewing harmful fatalism until you learn.

Trump will desperately try to spin his acquittal as a win for him. It won't be, but he'll try to spin it that way. If you also push this narrative an acquittal is a win for him, then you're basically working full-time for his campaign.

Some of y'all are doing so much damage each day by spewing your toxic fatalism, you might as well be going door to door and asking people to vote for Trump. If you can't be constructive, kindly shut the fuck up and get out of our way while we win this election for you.

The fatalists said we'd lose the midterms. We won big.

The fatalists said Trump would never be impeached. He was impeached.

The fatalists said Trump would use war with Iran to get magically reelected. He couldn't pull off a war.

There's a ton of stuff that's wrong right now. Everything is on fire. These are bad times. But the fatalists are ALWAYS WRONG. We have enough problems without these fatalists running around making up imaginary doomsday scenarios that get in the way of the real battles we fight.

By the way, Trump hasn't "gotten away" with a goddamn thing. Half his henchmen are in prison. His approval rating is so low, he's not in contention for 2020. New York grand jury is targeting him, and if loses, he'll be arrested immediately. He couldn't be much more fucked.

Just because no one has waved a magic wand and caused him to fall through a trap door, some of y'all think that means he's somehow winning. That's childlike thinking. Back in the adult world, he's almost destroyed. Politically crippled. Hanging on by a thread. No good way out.

Also, when you say he's going to get away with it all because he's Teflon Don, it shows that you don't have any knowledge of anything. You know what happened to the original Teflon Don? HE DIED IN PRISON. That's how these stories end for these flailing, cornered, aging villains.

Trump is only in office because Comey wrote a letter. Trump's plot with Russia wasn't enough to put him over the top. His campaign was ineffective. His strategy was nonexistent. Literally nothing he did in the 2016 campaign worked. Some clown just wrote a letter. That's all.

Some of y'all have spent three years trying to figure out his secret evil genius strategy. HE DOESN'T HAVE ONE. Comey's letter put him in office. Since then he's just been hiding behind the office, praying no one busts through the defenses that the office provides.

If you want to finish Trump off, start by understanding that he has no strategy. He's just flailing around like a fish, hoping no one finishes him off. If we can stop with the fatalism for a damn minute, and focus on working hard and working smart, we will finish him off.
