/ Last year I wrote about some emerging opportunities/needs/ideas in the blockchain space. Here’s a thread reflecting on how they’ve progressed a year later.

/ “Stableswap – Uniswap for stablecoins” => I’ve heard of about 3-5 teams working on this recently. Stablecoins transaction volume is massive, and pooled market maker with no impermanent loss could be a top 5 dex by the end of the year.
/ “jQuery for ETH wallets” => @WalletConnect and web3-react arrived on the scene and made connecting to different types of wallets much easier for developers. Dapps are getting flack for _only_ supporting Metamask these days as cross-wallet compatibility becomes table stakes.
/ “Mainnet Faucet” => Fiat to crypto onramps still aren’t great, but @sendwyre did release support for Apple Pay, which is a 🔥 UX. Additionally, we’re seeing a lot of fiat-to-stablecoin offerings without even going through ETH. Need to continue pushing this one forward though.
/ “Alternate UIs/focus for Augur” => This largely came true with the rise (and fall) of @veil and now @guesser. It does sound like some regulatory pathways are clearing up though, and I’m excited for @gnosisPM’s Sight and the next version of @AugurProject.
/ “PostgreSQL extension for Ethereum” => Still doesn’t exist to my knowledge, but companies like @AlethioEthstats / @graphprotocol / @DuneAnalytics are making the onchain data set normalized and accessible.
/ “Cash-flow Tokens” => Some progress. @SDinwiddie_25 tried to structure his token in this manner but had to revert to a bond instead. @SablierHQ made progress on streaming payments. I still think interesting cash-flow token models will emerge with time.
/ “TrustFeed” => I believe data privacy and algorithmic transparency will be a major tech theme over the next 5-10 years, not just in blockchain. Lawmakers will demand it, BigTech will comply with half-fixes, and startups will differentiate themselves on it.
/ “Trading history verification” => No projects going after this specifically but @SetProtocol’s Social Trader project and @numera’s Erasure are similar enough. I think verified trading history will be a promising sector of the blockchain ecosystem moving forward.
/ “Ratings bounty” => Didn’t really make much progress although @Trustpilot seems to be growing fast in the web2 space.
/ Fin! Thanks for making it to the end!
