I finished all my work goals today & set up a work date for tomorrow & scheduled mentoring calls & a call with my editor. It’s time to make this book a reality!
Realistically, I think I can finish the manuscript by June. Then it will go out to readers & I’ll get feedback by October. Then I’ll have to revise again & submit again. Best case scenario, we’re looking at a late 2021/early 2022 publication.
I feel good about a 2022 publication bc I really want to do another book tour, but I desperately need to slow down my travel for a bit. I love sharing my work, but between work travel & long distance relationships, sometimes I feel like I barely live in Madison!
And despite how much I complain about the winter, the rest of the year I actually do quite enjoy it here. 😂

I love this photo of me dancing at @OvertureCenter’s #Frostiball last weekend. 🥰
I just remembered that while dancing I kept smelling weed vaguely. Then at one point I turned around & a very drunk white woman was openly vaping on the dance floor & blowing the smoke down during this fancy $150+ ticket ball. Privilege is a trip.
Note: I have -47 problems with weed. I was mostly struck by the nerve & privilege. As a Black woman in the space on a free ticket I was trying to not drink too much free wine! Then this woman is just openly getting high on the dance floor. It’s just...different worlds.

Is anyone else watching #kipoandtheageofwonderbeasts on @Netflix? Really high quality kids animation with queer, genderqueer & POC leads. Highly recommend if you have a kiddo or if you like animated stuff!
Literally a black teen boy character says “I’m gay” & it’s done in such a sweet, non-eventful way. Also love that sexuality can be in there without love/romance/sex being a central feature.
Just binged it to the end. Really good! I am really looking forward to Season 2. Check out #kipoandtheageofwonderbeasts yall!

The fans loved her while the locker room dismissed her. They saw her as a fan & didn’t believe in her.

So she doubled down on her positivity & outgoing personality. She was a fighter, but more importantly to her, she was a hugger.

She was going to do things her way!

The King of Fighters series is an old favorite of mine. I'm terrible at fighting games, though. What's the solution? Why, a King of Fighters visual novel, of course! Buckle up, team—This is going to be a pseudo-Let's Play for a hidden gem called the King of Fighters Kyo, for PS1.
Let's get into some background first. This game was one of several PS1 titles developed by Yumekobo as SNK spinoff games. Their other notable PS1 title was Athena: Awakening from the Ordinary Life, a 3D game with prerendered BGs, survival horror mechanics, & psychic powers.
I could do a whole other thread on this game, which I've played extensively, but that's a thread for another day. In any case, Yumekobo was part of SNK and got dissolved when SNK went bankrupt around 2000-ish.
