I’m this old & I’m only learning how to deal with impostor syndrome. Learning that I don’t need to measure myself against others. Learning that I live not for the applause of others but for the joy of my family. Learning that titles and stuff are not worth much. Learning to live.
I‘m learning that I don’t need the things that I thought I need. I’m learning that I don’t need much. I’m learning that I’m happy to be who I am and where I am especially when no one is watching. There really is no need to compare myself against others. I’m enough.
Everything I am and have can be taken away from me in a heartbeat, in a stroke (literally and figuratively). Living the simplicity of a life free from expectation is liberating. It’s good to be able to say, “Thanks. I’m good.”
