GOP Senators think the coverup works for them, because acquitting with *less* info about Trump's corruption is easier. But Trump/McConnell don't wield total control. The group American Oversight tells me they're getting State Dept docs in Feb. New piece: washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/…
A few points in this piece.

First, no GOP Senator wants to be the 51st vote for new witnesses and evidence.

Being the decisive vote in favor of truth and transparency would be the ultimate betrayal of Trump.

The nonprofit group American Oversight just received reams of WH emails showing internal frictions over the legality of Trump's corrupt freezing of military aid.

To be clear, Lev Parnas just implicated Rudy Giuliani, and possibly Trump, in a criminal conspiracy to solicit a bribe from Ukraine.
