Berkeley Earth Temperature Results for 2019

We conclude that 2019 was the second warmest year since directly measurements became available in 1850.
The global mean temperature in 2019 is estimated to have been 0.90 ± 0.05 °C (1.62 ± 0.08 °F) above the average temperature from 1951 to 1980.

This is equivalent to being 1.28 °C (2.31 °F) above the average temperature of the late 19th century.
The temperature increase over the globe is broadly distributed, affecting nearly all land and ocean areas.

In 2019, 88% of the Earth’s surface was significantly warmer than the average during 1951-1980, 10% was of a similar temperature, and only 1.5% was significantly colder.

THREAD) Let's talk a little bit about what a future global energy system might look like.

This chart compares the past development of the global energy system with one of the future scenarios considered by the IPCC that would limit global warming to 1.5 °C.
Firstly, everyone assumes that total energy demand is going to continue to grow.

The developing countries, e.g. China, India, Africa, will demand more energy in order to raise their standards of living.

Any model of the future energy system must accommodate that growth. 2/
Secondly, in order to limit global warming to 1.5 °C, the carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels must be reduced quickly.

Further, nearly every model assumes we will use carbon capture technology to compensate for not otherwise reducing emissions fast enough. 3/

In short, archival work is a lesson in time management. Historians particularly usually want to blitz an eye watering amount of material, scraping for any scraps of information.

A good number work part time or are on low incomes, so prosperous productivity is essential. /2
Technology has really helped.

I personally like to stack up files and blitz through them. I'm one of a majority who photographs material to view later.

Sure you may skim a page on site, but the real study is at home/in the office, often working late /3

@TajinderBagga @zainabsikander 1. Hindustan at the time of Babur’s arrival in 1526 was under the rule of the Lodhi dynasty. They were a Sunni Muslim, Afghan dispensation. Their head and ruler at the time was Ibrahim Lodhi.
It was therefore the Lodhis who Babur fought at Panipat, in 1526.
@TajinderBagga @zainabsikander 2. Following his victory at Panipat, Babur fought an even bigger (and more decisive though less remembered) battle in 1528, at Khanua, against a combined Rajput-Afghan Confederacy led by Rana Sabha of Mewar, composed of both Rajputs and Afghans.
Babur won this battle narrowly.

Ipsos/Reuters has been in line with other generic ballot polls and not unusually volatile over the past year. But since May 1, the Ipsos/Reuters results have turned sharply towards the GOP. 2/

Simple way to say, human #History is millions of years old, and measured in the manner of Chaturyuga (4 main yugas/cycles). In due time, the Races of mankind (and/or, genetic make-up) gets diluted, lost, assembled/reassembled, out-mixing (w/other species), unregulated mixing,
etc. & via such phenomena in successive ages. Truly unfathomable to understand, Sat Yuga was of dominant Brahmanas/Rishis (a single homogeneous racial purity/ 12 strand+ DNA), & divisions arose in Treta- 6 main races & various sub-races, interbreeding w/other species & so forth.
The emergence of total white skin(albinism/12K BP) further aggravated the racial dilution few thousand years back(who masterminded this scenario?). Anyway, discerning the present scenario, and learning something out of this mess, it's necessary to connect to the remnants of ...
