Social grace sales:
Every step of the way leave a backdoor open so the person you are negotiating with can back away. Why? Subconsciously they will trust you and not know why. But you know why now. Give people time and space because you’re busy creating a bigger pie while...
they may fear they need to take as many slices as they can from the current small pie. Empower them, show them what their options are. Light the path, remind them you are a candle and sharing your light doesn’t diminish your value at all.
Let them feel like you respect their dignity enough to not swindle them. I have a client that I’ve been working on for 2 weeks with @ember_sadat. We’ve run into every imaginable hurdle. For every update, I give the client room to back away. Add humour wherever possible.
Deliver bad news in a easy to digest manner. Finish off emails by asking about their kids/pets etc. It’s the last thing they’ll read and first thing their mind will go to. They’ll see you in a different light. But clip left fat tail. Be ready to walk away from a deal at anytime.
