It’s a measure of just how successful the Brexit liars have been that today we lose vital rights, sacrifice countless jobs, hand over sovereignty of part of the UK and become the first nation in history to declare sanctions on itself and people are celebrating.

By “Brexiters”, I don’t mean Leave voters. I mean the elite that fooled them, that fanned racism and xenophobia, lied, cheated and broke the law to win the referendum and make themselves and their pals richer. Brexit is theirs - Johnson, Cummings, Farage etc. They own it.
Brexit day showed again there's so much ignorance and racism among Brexit supporters, even though we're told we're not allowed to say that to shut us up. Our job now is to work out how to combat it especially when Brexit and Tory rule will make ordinary people's lives much worse.

EU citizens are our doctors, scientists, teachers, family, friends, colleagues. They’ve picked our fruit, built our IT, looked after our old and sick, contributed to our society for decades and now are being told to piss off just so this country can make itself poorer.
The hostile environment is still in place.
Home Office incompetence is still in place (the settled status app you’re meant to use isn’t even available on iPhone, only android).

While Pete Willsman remains on the NEC I have no confidence that Labour is dealing with antisemitism. Here he is denying antisemitism while literally using an antisemitic trope (that it’s all a conspiracy, in this case orchestrated by the Israeli embassy).
This conspiracy constantly rebadges itself.
In medieval times it was “the Rabbis” who pulled all the strings.
Then Rothschilds and Jewish bankers.
Then Jewish-controlled media.
Then Israel.
It’s an antisemitic trope.
At best Willsman doesn’t get it, at worst he’s an antisemite.
Yes, Israel will be trying to undermine Corbyn. Yes, the guy in The Lobby offered money to fund trips to Israel. But to go from that to Israel being behind EVERYTHING, saying it’s basically a plot when I see Rothschild and other tropes all the time, even Holocaust denial. No.

I wanted to bring up this exchange not to embarrass the person involved but to highlight a phenomenon I've seen twice this morning, pro Democrats voting for an authoritarian shell, the Brexit "party"
2) twice today I've come across people who complain, rightly or wrongly, about the "undemocratic" EU, who have researched its democratic deficits..

...and yet have happily voted for an authoritarian shell "party" which has no democratic processes at all, because its "temporary"
3) to reiterate, Farage 2.0, the BxP, has no manifesto, no way to join as a member, no way to depose the leader, no way to vote on policy

And this is all *by design*, see 12 mins in, because Farage was tired of the democratic processes in UKIP
