I wanted to bring up this exchange not to embarrass the person involved but to highlight a phenomenon I've seen twice this morning, pro Democrats voting for an authoritarian shell, the Brexit "party"

2) twice today I've come across people who complain, rightly or wrongly, about the "undemocratic" EU, who have researched its democratic deficits..

...and yet have happily voted for an authoritarian shell "party" which has no democratic processes at all, because its "temporary"

3) to reiterate, Farage 2.0, the BxP, has no manifesto, no way to join as a member, no way to depose the leader, no way to vote on policy

And this is all *by design*, see 12 mins in, because Farage was tired of the democratic processes in UKIP

4) so far, so shocking. The story of the BxP and why it was formed almost 3 years ago is just emerging and needs to be picked up by the media.

But what's doubly shocking is that confirmed pro democracy brexiters, when faced with this, say "ah but its OK, BxP is only temporary"

5) who said it was temporary? Who said the BxP was only "single purpose"?

Farage never has, this is an invention (whether a self delusion or spread by bots)

But avowed pro Democrats have made up stories of EU dictatorship whilst voting for a custom designed authoritarian entity

6) the conclusion might be that pro Brexit Pro Democrats are not Democrats at all. They're perfectly happy to hand over power to authoritarian strong men, just as long as they're real & English not imagined & foreign
