There are many more cases than confirmed to this point and the low overall mortality rate is good...
but, both SARS/MERS have a long period between onset and median day of death (~12 days). Damage to lung is what kills and can take time
Even if these people survive, they may never regain lung function/capacity. Their lives won't be the same
It is more likely the person never cleared virus & it returned. In the short term, if a person clears virus, they are not likely to get reinfected.
MERS data shows survivors lose much of neutralizing antibodies by a year. Not clear if true for nCoV. Also unclear if these people can get reinfected with MERS
