Last night I talked to some badass women of DC, VA, MD at a @womenwhocodedc event. @svthmc asked a spot on Q re: carving out time to stay current. Here’s how I do it…. (1/8) #femtech #madeindc #dctech
@WomenWhoCodeDC @svthmc First, I purposefully carve out time on Fridays. I have very little time during the week to absorb information, so I dedicate a part of my schedule to keeping up. (2/8)
@WomenWhoCodeDC @svthmc Second, I read a ton of newsletters. I can read them on any device. They’re timely. They give me information in digestible bits. Everything I follow: (3/8)
@WomenWhoCodeDC @svthmc @ExponentialView @benedictevans @a16z @TechBeaconCom DevOps Weekly: devopsweekly.com @devopsweekly
Inside Dev/AI/Cloud: inside.com
The Download from MIT: technologyreview.com/collection/the… and
Will Larson’s Irrational Exuberance: lethain.com, @lethain (Also a blog) (5/8)
@WomenWhoCodeDC @svthmc @ExponentialView @benedictevans @a16z @TechBeaconCom @devopsweekly @Lethain Third, I read all the normal RSS Feeds one would expect: Ars Technica, Engadget, Fast Company, Gizmodo, TechCrunch, and Wired. (6/8)
@WomenWhoCodeDC @svthmc @ExponentialView @benedictevans @a16z @TechBeaconCom @devopsweekly @Lethain Fourth, since I have a long commute, I load up on podcasts. I prefer podcasts that talk about tech and society or startups. Recode/Decode, Artificial Intelligence with Lex Fridman, Masters of Scale with Reid Hoffman, Future State, Reply All, and How I Built This with Guy Rav.
@WomenWhoCodeDC @svthmc @ExponentialView @benedictevans @a16z @TechBeaconCom @devopsweekly @Lethain That is how I, who has little time, keeps current on the evermoving currents of the tech industry! (8/8)
