People, please stop spreading conspiracy theories. Some of you should be smarter than this.

Let me debunk this conspiracy theory floating around suggesting spike in SO2 emissions in Wuhan is due to massive burning of bodies

2/ According to this 2018 Green Peace report on global SO2 emissions, annual SO2 emissions from Wuhan is:

85 Kilotons per year

3/ The average SO2 emission from cremation of a human body is found in this paper. Specifically table 2

4/ EDITED to correct for decimal point.

Based on this, I calculated relative % of daily SO2 emissions for 100, 1000, and 10000 bodies cremated.
5/ Even if 10k bodies were cremated each day, it would only represent 0.3% of average daily SO2 emission in Wuhan.

Therefore, any spike can not be due to cremation
6/ Primary source of SO2 emission are from coal power plants (don't think volcanos are present in Wuhan).

If the scrubbers in a power plant malfunctions, you will get spikes

7/ Medical waste (hospital gowns, etc.) is also a potential source. Medical waste typically contain 0.2% sulfur.

It'd not surprise me that this may be the source of spikes. If incinerator cap. is @ max. I can imagine med waste being burned in open fields

Coronavirus patient flew from LA to Mexico City Jan 20. Became ill Jan 21 after using Uber 2x MX City. Unknown if CHI man visited/from Wuhan.

Flew back to US. Location undisclosed. Hospitalized & Dx'd w/ coronavirus.

Anyone know which patient this is?

Some polls against about support of the inquiry and these have an outside the margin of error advantage for yes. More recent polls have been asking instead Do you support impeaching & removing Trump. Here the diff between yes & no is inside the margin of error. There will likely
never be movement of Rs, as I argued. And that's bc most Rs avoided the hearings themselves & relied on partisan news coverage instead. And also bc they are not going to be swayed by anything. In terms of Indies, what I'd like to see is some of the big N surveys like @YouGov

please stop spreading the myth that all trans people discover they’re trans when they are little kids, or otherwise they’re not really trans. it’s just not true. a lot of trans people realise it when they are adults and that’s fine
there’s no age when it’s too late to realise your trans identity. some people discover it in their twenties, some when they are fifty or older. that’s normal. many of us don’t have the vocabulary to understand their identity as kids and most stay in denial for years
I’m saying this because it happened to me several times now that I came out to someone and they said “you can’t be trans or you would’ve known as a child!” cis people, that’s not true. it’s not my fault you’re uncomfortable with my trans identity and search for ways to deny it

Please stop spreading this nonsense. Listen y’all. Don’t work for managers who don’t want you to know what the hell is going on around you.
You can spend 8 hours a day building the wrong thing. Or you can go to a meeting, find out what the right thing is, then go build that.
It’s no wonder we are experiencing a management crisis. It’s hard to find thoughtful, empathetic people to do this job. And a big part of the reason is shitty advice like this that makes engineers sound like children and managers sound like glorified babysitters.
