When you imagined reconciliation, did you believe it would be sunshine & unicorns? Think again. Indigenous people have long standing issues they need addressed.
Indigenous people have sought redress in court and won. It’s now part of indigenous case law.

When precedent setting court rulings aren’t working (law and order) and industry is using law and order to force concessions of land, protests are born.
If you can’t get mainstream Canada to listen using the tools provided (the law), civil disobedience is the next best thing.

Welcome to indigenous peoples daily experience. Road blocks stopping any progress and threats of violent law enforcement for demonstrating dissent.

Every piece of propaganda this conservative operative throws out as disinformation is explained and refuted and debunked.

For every Canadian that said they support reconciliation, this is it.

Now is the time to step up to the plate and voice support. You want indie to debunk con lies and false narratives. Here it is.

Look past the protest and recognize the issue is land & treaty rights.

Everyday I see people at their wits end struggling to find hope and the motivation to continue to fight for social democracy. In Canada, and in the US the overwhelming sense of doom is getting to people.
The political, social (and for some the economic) environment is toxic. Most don’t recognize what it is making them feel sick, stressed, angry or disgusted. They believe it’s themselves, or a political party, or (insert your favourite wedge issue).
They want to retreat in apathy, lash out in anger, fight former friends and current neighbours. They are exhausted and emotionally distraught.

But there is something that keeps me motivated.

I think of the alternatives.

What is the drive to lobbying for TFW? An opportunity to lower the minimum wage. TFW are paid less than domestic counterparts, Canadian citizens.

Is this an attempt to lower wages in an already contracted economy?

Every recommendation is based on UCP ideology and publicly stated business policy demands for federal government.

Is there any separation between UCP and CFIB?

Halt CPP increases. Make retirement savings the responsibility of employees. Why should employers contribute?

Hear Dr Phillips inform Jamaica that the nominal exchange rate is not an indicator of whether the economy is “weak or strong”.
Subsequent to my post on Tuesday that provided a reminder of Dr Phillip’s exchange rate pronouncements while Minister of Finance, today he acknowledged his support of a market exchange rate. That is a good start.
