Madurai Mariamman temple tank.
Mariamman Teppakulam is a square tank spread over a huge area of almost 16 acres, about 4Kms East of Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. The tank is the scene of the colourful float festival held in Jan/Feb to celebrate the birth anniversary of King Thirumalai Nayak who built this tank.
The deities of Meenakshi and Sundareswarar are placed in a float, called “Teppam”, decorated with flowers and illuminated with hundred of lights. This float is taken around the tank to the sound of traditional music.

He's one of the Navagraha (the 9primary celestial beings in Hindu astrology) of Jyotiṣa. He's embodied in planet Saturn and is the Lord of Saturday. The word Shani comes from Śanayē Kramati Sah, the one who moves slowly bcs Saturn takes about 30 years to orbit the Sun.
He's son of Surya & Chhaya, hence also known as Chayyaputra. He's the elder brother of Yama, God of death, who corresponds to the deliverance of justice. Shani Dev gives results of one's deeds thru appropriate punishments, rewards; Yama grants results of one's deeds after death.
Shani Dev defines our fortune, our health and our popularity. In Vedic astrology, anyone born under Shani’s influence is feared to have bad luck. To mitigate negative obstacles, he is often worshiped to fend off misfortune, adversity, and evil. However, he's often misunderstood.

All the supposedly oh so nuetral stances of the politically correct classes do not deal with the elephant in the room, which is Muslim intolerance of Hindus.
There is no getting around the fact that this is a Hindu majority nation and what was propagated as secularism for all these decades is now dead. These are just the burial rituals. Good riddance to this rubbish notion anyway.
After all this BS that we have seen in the last six weeks, the Govt would do well to introduce and pass UCC in the budget session of Parliament itself and get it over with. Population Control Bill can be done a little later.

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."
