I am a die-hard @united traveler. I live next to their national hub and I traveled to San Diego like 10x last year roundtrip, so I became Silver Medallion.

My mom is die-hard @Delta flyer and is Silver Medallion with them.

But for the free week that I won in South Korea (👀see here bit.ly/stuDYAbrOad) Delta was cheaper. Wth. I want flight perks especially if I'll be in the air for 15 HOURS. But instead of complaining, I went Googling.

That's when I discovered the status match system.

With Delta, if you have an eligible status with @united, @AlaskaAir , @AmericanAir, @JetBlue, @British_Airways, @SouthwestAir, @lufthansa +more, you can have either Silver, Gold, or Platinum with Delta for 3 months. And if you fly enough Delta in that period you keep the status.

So because I was Silver Medallion with United, I applied for status match with Delta 5 days before my flight. Got approved as Silver with Delta, and was able to:
- get priority check in
- 1 free checked bag
- select my seat
- upgrade my seat to Delta Comfort+ the day of my flight

I WAS HYPE. And I knew my mom had an upcoming flight to Puerto Vallarta soon on United, so I got her hip.

She applied to United's Status match the week before her flight, and now gets the same benefits with her United flight! And all United flights for the next 3 months 🎉

📝STEP 1. See if you're eligible.
Go to your airlines' app and see if you have status. On my apps it shows me on the home page.

📝 STEP 2. Submit your request.
I needed: 1) a current digital membership card or credential with your name on it & 2) a statement showing your earned elite status with an eligible airline. Again, easy screenshots from the app.

📝STEP 3.... Thas it. Enjoy!
You deserve that extra leg room. Treat yourself with an extra checked bag, you ain't payin for it. Board early with priority checkin, and sit First Class (use my tips here 👉🏽packslight.com/Upgrade!) Even if you only do it for 3 months 🤷🏽‍♀️

Now for all of my press trips for the next 3 months at least, I'll be Silver Medallion if I fly Delta too.

And as soon as I have a flight/series of flights come up with JetBlue, American, British, etc... 🌝 You know what I'm finna do
