Also, about that "Three Percent" thing. That's a reference to a common claim among militiamen that "only 3%" of colonists fought against the British — therefore presumably their ragtag band of paranoid gun-humpers could theoretically take down the whole U.S. govt if necessary.
In fact that's not true. Historians actually estimate about 11% of the population served in either the Continental Army or the state militias — and a solid plurality of the public at large supported the revolution. observer.com/2017/07/soldie…
But of course historical accuracy isn't the big point here — the big point is that the "Three Percenter" ideology explicitly rejects the idea that democracy achieves consent of the governed.
