For context, see this thread. The clip is only one part of a much longer video that is more balanced. My point is that he has a pattern of surprisingly positive statements about various awful regimes that will be used against him (but hasn't been yet)
Disagreement by @mattyglesias. We'll see! Remember that Bernie's past statements reinforce the critique that's going to be offered of his unpopular policies as big govt. socialism (washingtonpost.com/outlook/damned…). Different than ads saying Trump is a bad person.
@mattyglesias Ah! Bloomberg's case seems different (past statements are massive vulnerability in primary, not general). Trump showed that trolling other party + red meat for base + coverage saturation can overcome heterodoxy, but Bloomberg needs a lot more of all three
