Last Labour budget by Chancellor Alistair Darling in March 2010 he said "Even so, it is clear that the next spending settlement from 2011 onwards will be very tough – the toughest for decades"
Tonight Labour in TH seem to have forgotten this speech

Yes, there is an argument that austerity went on for too long & cut too much
But Alistair Darling indicated change had to happen
TH has been less effected then others thanks to population growth, business rates, New Homes Bonus
Question is how to respond to austerity?

Some Councils have had to cut deeply, some have been very creative with limited resources
But as this chart shows overall TH core spending power is up by 8% since 2015/16 (not including business rates)
But also how shape of budget changes, government funding⬇️but C tax⬆️
