I’m seeing a lot of translations of the Japanese twitter slapfights between hardcore right-wing otaku and feminists over posters but very little In English about the lady otaku who are saying “don’t drag us into this, let us do shipping and fujoshi stuff in peace”
Like... do these people trying to drag these debates to English speaking fandom ever think to talk to the many, many women otaku on their thoughts?

So many people seem to want to provoke an “otaku vs women” showdown and

It's exactly why you need to really examine your relationship with someone you know when they are accused of abusive behavior
I've had some people I've been friendly with be outed as doing some pretty awful things during 2019, and it's never easy to realize someone you had faith in is actually really awful, but denying it to yourself and others only makes it worse
No job opportunity or social standing is worth defending a garbage person's ability to be garbage while you're not looking. Just because they did you favors or were nice to *you personally* does not make them good people

The more I think about, the more I feel like PKMN's dex and move list getting culled is kinda overdue

When you keep tacking more and more onto base game design for years, carrying everything over from game to game, it gets really hard to add anything more
Adding new gameplay elements means taking into consideration 20+ years of skills and hundreds of creatures while trying to make sure there's no overwhelmingly good meta, like Psychic-types in Red/Blue. That's really, really hard!
It reminds me a bit of the state Magic the Gathering is in: Wizards knows Legacy and Vintage are a ridiculous unbalanced shitshow, so they just focus on developing for the much-scaled-down Standard format instead

I was eagerly awaiting the 1988 issues because I wanted to see how Raimais was advertised and promoted. Puzzlingly... there's almost no material about it.
The game released around April-June 1988 from what I can tell, but there's really nothing about it in Game Machines around that time. It starts to appear in the popularity rankings in mid-June but isn't discussed much.

You divide Twitter into an old sector on "1.twitter.com" and put all things we have now over there and a new sector at 2.twitter.com.
Handle pools would start afresh on 2.twitter.com while all users would be checked for activity by having them completing a prompt to switch over to the new sector along with their username & content,

People haven't given up in Bolivia following the coup. The indigenous city of El Alto, next to La Paz, is still fighting. Anti-coup protesters have been setting up road blocks last night and this morning. This is the district 'Ex Tranca' (vid: @RoseugeH)
@RoseugeH The problem facing those resisting the coup is that there's little leadership or direction now that Evo has been forced out. Those opposed to the coup have taken out their anger against buildings believed to be owned to coup leader Camacho (Sofia factory)
@RoseugeH In reality it's not owned by Camacho, but right-wing attacks on public media have meant very little verified information can be circulated, fake news on social media has filled the vacuum. The coup has won but hasn't been able to build a new functioning government, chaos rules.

Twitter seems to be banning or suspending accounts belonging to critics of the Chinese government. It started yesterday May 31th. Here is one report - I noticed a sudden loss of followers yesterday, I checked, it was mainly China critics. Twitter❤️🇨🇳 Amazing! @mouse @1GigiSims
This is happening as an effort to silence #China critics ahead of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, which is next Tuesday. Twitter is helping China do its dirty work to silence the legitimate opposition. Twitter has hit a new all time low! 👎👎👎
One other possibility that can't be discounted is that the #Chinese government is hacking into Twitter and is deleting the accounts of Chinese critics. I did hear reports in the past, that Chinese hackers were able to get into Twitter & do that.

So after a news cycle of seemingly never-ending Boris bashing by all of the major UK TV stations over a joke made at the expense of a religion, whose adherents we are constantly informed by the same TV stations are all peaceful and not suffering from mental health issues. 2/13
Or in the case of the suicide bombers “we may never know their true motivation” even when this is in fact not the case, fortunately no-one was killed this time, which makes a very refreshing change, but that appears to have been more down to luck than anything else. 3/13
