Trumpism is all about perceived threats to power and culture. A foreign film winning an Oscar is a perceived loss to white culture and so of course they're going to flock to white supremacist fantasies.

White supremacy is predicated on complete and unending control of culture. It only works with domination of all aspects of life. An award or a commercial, anything that interrupts that domination is, to white supremacy, unacceptably dangerous.
And the truth is, white supremacy is extremely fragile. It's a lie that's just been told and told and told and enforced by law and fascistic power. It's a glass tower that's always about to collapse and can only be saved through abuses of power and cultural oppression.
This is why diversity and inclusivity and representation are acts of war for Trumpists. Any interruption of white cultural dominance is a threat to white supremacy. Control of culture has to be complete to ensure never ending authority. We’ve seen that here over and over.
