After listening to some interviews, and reading a bunch of articles, I am now convinced that Deribit is one of the most important companies in the space. Bitcoin and Ether options will explode in the near future and Deribit is absolutely dominating the market
What I’m impressed about - capital efficient (~30 employees), hugely profitable, experienced team with trading backgrounds, 100k registered accounts, 70% of volume traded by institutional investors, steady growth, constant innovation and much more
They could have also easily launched an exchange token to make some easy money like literally everyone else but they didn’t. And I hope they won’t. That earns my respect
Not sure why this even needs to be said but I’m not getting any money from Deribit and don’t own any stake in their business. Just as I will call out questionable practices by companies, I’m happy to share my positive thoughts if I believe the company is doing a great job.
