The question is why wasn’t he vetted to begin with and how many of these hires and slipped though the cracks?

There was this one Bernie hired as a Jewish outreach coordinator who had a bunch of—I kid you not—antisemitic tweets:
There is Linda Sarsour, who was recently fired from the Women’s March for her multiple antisemitic comments but Bernie is using her as surrogate anyway:
And of course David Sirota—who was fired by a more ethical campaign for creating a racist web site and a pariah of politics until Bernie hired him. He still works for Bernie as a close insider and would be expected to be a top Sanders WH staffer:
