🚨 We just added new liquidity metrics to the Messari Screener

These new metrics will help provide a better sense of an asset's liquidity, especially when comparing it with another

You can find these new liquidity metrics under the Column's & Filters menu in the Messari screener
There are 3 new metrics that allow you to measure the estimated impact of a market sell ranging from $100K - $20M

Here's a quick overview of each new metric using a $1M sale
If we compare $BTC vs $XLM, these metrics show that XLM markets are hit much harder by a big sell than BTC

Following a $1M sale, estimated slippage that occurs is roughly -0.08% for BTC and -9.32% for XLM

Clearing price and liquid adj. mcap shift accordingly

These new metrics are derived from averaged order book data across Real10 exchanges

Ok let’s tackle the elephant in the room first. And primarily there are two of them.

1. Non Starter Personal Income Tax Cuts; and

2. Cues from Equity Markets.

The non starter personal income tax is disappointing for the middle class. It’s unlikely many will opt for new rates
For people to shift to new structure, their effective tax rate should have been lower than the proposed new structure.

While it doesn’t make sense for high income earners availing housing loans/HRA exemptions to shift, even many below 15lakhs won’t likely shift to new rates.
Essentially, the decision comes to minimizing the Tax Outgo for a salaried individual.

Rather than giving ones earnings to the government, one would rather invest, even at the inconvenience of lower near term personal disposable income.

Proposed DTC rates fail the threshold.

I worked with the masterful @hecharts to make graphics that provide a better sense of where millennials are at right now.

Using Fed data and other statistics, we can see how young Americans (under 35) now compare to those of the past. And how they compare to older generations.
@hecharts Some good news: Millennials are starting to make more money.

The unemployment rate has declined and wage growth has somewhat picked up in recent years. So median income is finally bouncing back after a big drop in the wake of the Great Recession.

Trump’s comments about buying Greenland seemed a bit farfetch’d to me. In this day and age, it seems highly, highly unlikely/improbable for Denmark to sign off on such a sale. Trump would know this being a businessman. There’s too much value in Greenland..
