So today was the Mass Unwrap at Morrisons in Horsforth. Plastic free north west Leeds members went shopping and saw how much is wrapped in pointless plastic. 
We really don’t need tins shrink wrapped in pointless plastic. @HeinzUK Heinz you can do so much better. Please stop 😄
So much pointless plastic! I have to say I don’t usually buy any of these wrapped in plastic but plasticfree nw Leeds are trying to highlight an issue. Please can all supermarkets free the fruit and vegetables! #freethefruitandveg
We pay for the items and then immediately start removing all the pointless plastic. The items simply don’t need the plastic at all 🤷♀️
We encourage shoppers to get rid of any pointless plastic and they are more than happy to do so 😄. They tell us they hate fruit and veg wrapped in plastic. Also that the supermarkets plastic bin is always full. @Morrisons does that not tell you something about pointless plastic

After Stuart Andrew MP @StuartAndrew removes all the pointless plastic, he agrees that the fruit and vegetables look so much nicer without the plastic. I did cheekily suggest we should legislate against this pointless plastic 😄 Thank you for your support today!

More shoppers happy to discard their pointless plastic. I was super impressed by the bringing of tubs from this family 👍. So prepared and determined not to buy plastic but you just can’t get away from the stuff

Look how much pointless plastic we collected in just 1 hour! 😱This speaks volumes that all supermarkets need to do a lot more! We just don’t need it! It’s contributing to climate change and polluting our planet in every corner😢
This is the lovely artist Penny Lewis who is going to take all this plastic waste collected in just 1 hour and create a piece of art for the Horsforth walk of art @walkof_art we will then recycle what we can afterwards. I can’t wait to see it turned into art! 😄
