The trusted adults were misled by other trusted adults and so on when the 2008 collapse occurred it's wasn't impressionable young people who were misled but everyone; the same occurs in education. However, the choice to participate is still on the user.
Furthermore, when I was making my edu choice, virtually everyone who was too, understood the consequences of taking the loan and what that entailed. At that point, it wasn't "young people being misled" but actively sublating themselves into the system.
Does that remove any scorn from the predator? no. However, self-reflection & personal accountability are equally appropriate. The system does not work unless we allow it to. Should people pay their student loans? not imo, they should insurrect against it.
