Nation media is one of the biggest media houses in East Africa yet outrageously, unprofessionally & unethically feeding fake news & continuously building disinformation, propaganda and hate against Somali community and Eastleigh residents.
Here Nation media writes " 48 people among them 38 students of two colleges arrested in Eastleigh, Nairobi, on suspicion they were being trained as terrorists: DCI".

The two colleges were closed on issues related to licence, not meeting @TVETAKenya requirements & compliance.
The closure of the institutions and the arrests of students & their teachers has completely nothing to do with Al shabaab or students being trained as terrorists.

@TVETKenya has clearly and professionally published the facts about the closure of the two colleges in Eastleigh.
@TVETKenya wrote on their page that they assessed and licensed Atlas college to operate legally offering specified number of courses.

The official statement on their page is saying Atlas college preached the terms & the conditions of the licence by offering extra courses...
.. Without getting authorization to expand their programs as required by @TVETAKenya

Correct: This is about compliance in meeting certain requirements, ensure enough capacity and quality education are offered in those institutions.
Atlas college has been operational close to 20 years if not more, offering both internationally & locally recognised certifications in Business, ICT, English language & KNEC courses. The institution has produced many young graduates & was filling the gape in the education sector.
Similarly Alison college was doing the same and to offer Much needed skills & education by the community, fighting with Illiteracy and empowering young people through technology &short courses.

we can't allow colleges to operate without licence or registration.
as required by the laws and Acts of the constitution and as required by @TVETAKenya

Dr. Langat from @TVETAKenya said "we have closed the college(Alison) until it registered by law".

We urged #Alisoncollege to present their Reg. documents to the authorities as soon as possible
or register the institution through the right authorities, departments and Ministers of the government as required by the law.

we can't accept you to operate without registration and to expose students to police harrassment
In my Tweet am giving both @TVETAKenya & the two colleges the benefit of doubt that each & everyone has a prove to defend their position, to be on the right side of law in one case or another. But we have zero tolerance for the disinformation& ethnic profiling by @NationBreaking
@TVETKenya wrote on their page that some of the students doesn't have ID cards- here you are going wrong comrades, when does the work of @TVETKenya & ATPU became to check IDs in schools?
I am not supporting anyone to go against the laws, close the colleges until they are meeting the requirements of @TVETKenya But you shouldn't ask the police to arrest student because the institutions has issues with the Authorities. that is not fair at all
If they are under age they have student IDs , which laws warrants to arrest under ages for ID issues ?

If they don't have Kenya National IDs then they either have refugees IDs or passports.

Sisi tunamjua nini inamaanisha Valid ID tukiwa Eastleigh.
Appeal: Education is a universal human right, there is nothing to be in school & learn, if the Institutions are operating illegally close the institutions.

We are asking the authorities for the release of those innocent student.

#To be a student of a good art is not a criminal.
#Recommendations

1. We ask the DCI to investigate the matter and brought to justice the unethical journalists who are branding certain community, discriminating, and promoting hatred among the people through disinformation and fake news.
2. We ask @NationBreaking @NationDaily to order the journalist who published this post to step a side, remove this post & apologise to Eastleigh residents.

3. @TVETAKenya & @DCI_Kenya to investigate the matter of the two colleges ensure they are properly registered to operate.
4. we urge the administration of the two colleges to cooperate with the authorities in ensuring they fulfill all the requirements needed by the state institutions. the education institutions should be the 1st when it comes to law abiding.
5. we support @TVETAKenya to ensure colleges meet the highest threshold of the authority in delivering a quality #education.

This shouldn't be isolated to Eastleigh or the 2 colleges, it has to be across the board. It shouldn't be seen as if @TVETAKenya is been used competitors.
