Scott Morrison’s Deputy PM today in the @australian whines that “it really annoys me that I think states have been let off the hook largely this summer”. Here’s a few things that annoy me, about the recent bushfires...
@australian It really annoys me that, as we learned at Senate #estimates this week, Scott Morrison was warned “on multiple occasions” about the risk the bushfires posed, but he did nothing.
@australian It really annoys me that, for four years before the bushfires, Scott Morrison ignored pleas for more funding for water bombing. smh.com.au/politics/feder…
@australian It really annoys me that Scott Morrison refused 3 requests to meet with ex-fire chiefs, so they could advise him how to reduce #bushfire risk. abc.net.au/news/2019-11-1…
@australian It really annoys me that Scott Morrison arrogantly rejected @AlboMP's suggestion to meet with the states, to ensure we were ready for the #bushfires. theaustralian.com.au/nation/politic…
@australian @AlboMP It really annoys me that, instead of meeting the ex-fire chiefs, Scott Morrison’s office held a marketing workshop. afr.com/politics/feder…
@australian @AlboMP It really annoys me that, when the bushfires hit, Scott Morrison went missing in action.
@australian @AlboMP It really annoys me that Scott Morrison refused to pay our volunteer firefighters, because “they want to be there”. theguardian.com/australia-news…
It really annoys me that, when Scott Morrison finally visited fire victims, he turned his back on them, and then lied about what they said. theguardian.com/australia-news…
It really annoys me that, instead of helping the states with the fires, Scott Morrison spent his time blaming the states. theguardian.com/australia-news…
It really annoys me that, at the height of the fires, Scott Morrison’s priority was making an ad – one the Defence Force complained about. abc.net.au/news/2020-03-0…
It really annoys me that we now know the $2 billion #bushfire recovery fund that Scott Morrison says he’s created, doesn’t really exist. theaustralian.com.au/nation/politic…
It really annoys me that, weeks after Scott Morrison promised #bushfire victims “immediate support”, only 5 loans have been paid out to small businesses and farmers. dailytelegraph.com.au/bushfiresuppor…
It really annoys me that, while Scott Morrison and his team try to blame others, bushfire victims aren’t getting the help they need. adelaidenow.com.au/bushfiresuppor…
It really annoys me that Scott Morrison is defunding Australia’s leading #bushfire research centre, so soon after the fires. abc.net.au/news/2020-03-0…
It really annoys me that, months after the #bushfires Scott Morrison and his team continue to blame others, rather than give bushfire victims the support they need.
Bushfire victims don’t need hollow announcements and marketing lines. They don’t need blame shifting. They need their govt to take responsibility and help them get back on their feet.
