There is a lot that's different about Flow compared to existing blockchains: we built with the customer in mind!

Flow is developed by @dapper_labs, the creators of @CryptoKitties and @NBA_TopShot among others

Background: @flow_blockchain is a smart contract network built to support decentralized apps, games, and the digital assets that power them

Flow has a unique architecture: instead of "full nodes" like BTC or ETH, Flow allows for four nodes roles each with specific requirements
This allows @flow_blockchain to scale to service mainstream apps without breaking the network up into shards or side-chains

It also allows anyone with an internet connection to participate: there is no theoretical limit to certain node types, including verification
But that's not all

Token economies recognize and reward fans and evangelists, making them integral participants not just spectators. In a sense, any token economy is a "joint venture" between the developers / creators of the platform and the community of consumers they seek to serve.
In an ideal end-state, cryptocurrencies / crypto-collectibles / digital assets crystallize cultural value into liquid token economies, giving end-user communities a tradable currency whose financial value should reflect the strength of the bonds that keep them together.
Non-fungible crypto-collectibles (#ERC721) are even more powerful in this context than cryptocurrencies. Non-fungibles create incredibly rich surface area for the community to engage; games and play jump-start the imagination in a way purely financial tokens never could.

The key value of #Blockchain is immutable state and censorship-resistant access to that state

Unfortunately state changes are limited to direct user inputs, which isn't ideal for contracts that affect multiple parties

This space is still missing the other half of the equation
What we're missing is a trust-minimized and provably secure off-chain agent that can reliably trigger a state change on the behalf of the contract's beneficiaries

Importantly, that state change can be based off of the real world data ALL traditional real-world contracts require
I think you know what I'm getting at

The vast majority of useful #SmartContracts will need secure oracles as the data they require to execute is off-chain

#Oracles are the bridge between the on-chain world and the off-chain world

2/ For many people in the #blockchain and #crypto community, this was the first time they've heard of @ideo, @ideocolab, or the fact that we've been working deeply in the blockchain/crypto space since early 2015 with many of the industry's leading crypto projects and people.

@Johnny_Nashbro @block_one_ 2/ If you are building an vertical application (securities) and a blockchain (settlement system) at the same time you are trying to solve two problems. 1) Compliance and 2) Scalability... and everything between them.
@Johnny_Nashbro @block_one_ 3/ Compliance does not depend on scalability or vice versa. This is called a separation of concerns in development.
