Notice all the natural resource job training being made available. Accumulation and shared benefits of wealth is the focus.

Several representatives from banks, fossil fuel industries, financing corporations.
Showering opportunities (aka financing) for projects related to O&G expansion on systematically disadvantaged group of people.
It really isn’t difficult to persuade people to abandon their values and beliefs and their section 35 indigenous rights, when you have secured complicit leadership and then throw copious amounts of money at the resistance to industry development.
A large portion of Métis are urban, not remote rural communities. But the implication is the same.

Work with fossil fuel industries to promote fossil fuel industry and reap the financial benefits. Of course that also means surrendering your land claim rights.
That’s how it’s done folks.

Avarice is learned. It has to be to replace traditional indigenous values.

And it’s all considered legal.

This is true colonialism, by definition.

It sickens me to see this happening. But that’s what systemic disadvantage does. Weakens you’re resolve to adhere to your beliefs and values.

At least one person is admitting the US is no longer in containment phase of this epidemic.

The US is in mitigation phase.

Canada is still in containment phase.

Also means US will need to completely shut down their businesses, telework, close schools, cancel public gatherings to avoid transmission.

Canada WILL enter mitigation stage.

Incubation is between 10-30 days. From first sign of illness to medical intervention averages 10 days.
It means this will definitely impact the global economy. Definitely impact international and regional trade.

It also means Trump administration is managing very poorly. Avoid travel to US, if you can.

Someone dig up an old thread from about a year ago.

With Wexit looming over Alberta, it’s a thread that has held up.

But it’s not Ottawa abandoning Alberta. It’s the provincial UCP and their austerity budgets and massive cuts.
There is only so much gaslighting this government can do. Believe your lying eyes. You have way less financial security now than you did a year ago.

No spin is going to change that reality.
And look what the result was. The spawning of CCF I’m response to severe conditions.

We need the same response.

We need to let our government know this is unacceptable & deaths & suffering to save pennies to then hand over to oil companies and industry shareholders is done.

This is Frank Schaeffer. A progressive activist that was part of the Christian movement 30 years ago. He knew all the main players currently advising Trump Administration.

He predicts violence if Trump is removed.

THREAD - The causes of the #Wetsuweten crisis are decades of denial of land title and the sham of "consultation". Throughout Canada, Indigenous groups are expected to accept being ignored and to allow their rights to be violated when the future of their lands is at stake.
2/ In 2014, the Office of Wet'suwet'en raised over 500 points of concern with the Coastal Gaslink pipeline and asked the BC Environmental Assessment Office to reject the proposal. Despite these concerns, the project was approved. (wetsuweten.com/files/Wetsuwet…)
3/ When #Unistoten and @Smogelgem were in court for the BC Supreme Court Injunction, the judge asked why they had not filed a judicial review - a lawsuit challenging the project's approval.

The #Wetsuweten traditional lands are considered to be part of Canada and are recognized as such under both Canadian and international law. And so, police forces operating under Canadian law claim to have jurisdiction to enforce that law on those lands.

1/ THREAD - The BC Supreme Court Decision has ruled against the Unist'ot'en and Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chiefs, granting an injunction to Coastal Gaslink and ensuring police enforcement for the duration of the pipeline's construction. This is a close reading of the decision.
2/ Broadly, the judge accepted CGL’s position that they had obtained all necessary permits and were unlawfully impeded by a group, the #unistoten, engaged in ‘self-help remedies.’ CGL met all three tests for granting an injunction – more on these below.
3/ The judge rejected the defendant’s position that their actions are consistent with Wet’suwet’en law and ruled that Indigenous legal orders are not an “effectual” part of CDN law. Indigenous legal perspectives are only accepted as “fact evidence” of an Indigenous worldview.

my name is zaagasige giizis and I came to wet'suwet'en territory in early december as an ojibwe land defender in solidarity w #unistoten. I was one of fourteen arrestees during the violent RCMP raid of the gitdimt'en checkpoint.
our time at the gitdimt'en 44km checkpoint was great until the fucking pigs showed up. we ate moose eyes, tongue, and cheeks. drank water from the wedzinkwa. and shared so many laughs and memories together.
one of my favorite memories was the night we had a fireworks show off the bridge checkpoint during the last day of the gregorian calendar. so many wows! and oohs! lol.
