Several representatives from banks, fossil fuel industries, financing corporations.
Showering opportunities (aka financing) for projects related to O&G expansion on systematically disadvantaged group of people.
It really isn’t difficult to persuade people to abandon their values and beliefs and their section 35 indigenous rights, when you have secured complicit leadership and then throw copious amounts of money at the resistance to industry development.
A large portion of Métis are urban, not remote rural communities. But the implication is the same.

Work with fossil fuel industries to promote fossil fuel industry and reap the financial benefits. Of course that also means surrendering your land claim rights.
That’s how it’s done folks.

Avarice is learned. It has to be to replace traditional indigenous values.

And it’s all considered legal.

This is true colonialism, by definition.

It sickens me to see this happening. But that’s what systemic disadvantage does. Weakens you’re resolve to adhere to your beliefs and values.

Anyone who believes colonialism is not currently happening. This was first week of March 2020 in Vancouver.
