THREAD
I was emailed by a retired Naval Academy graduate who studied all the different coronaviruses in his career. I will make this a thread as to how he said to combat the virus. Some of it is over the top, but, he knows his coronaviruses.
2. Zinc lozenges are proven to fight viruses in the throat and nasal passageways. Take as directed. He suggested lying down and letting the lozenge dissolve slowly towards the back of your throat to melt into the sinuses also. These come in many brand names. Ask your pharmacist.
3. When gassing up your car, wear medical gloves. So many people touch gas pumps, etc., that you just can't be too safe. I think this is over the top for normalcy. But, I will use clorox wipes in and out of my car and hand santizer for this one thing. Otherwise, soap and water.
4. Remember that sneezing into your elbow can put the virus on your clothing that will live for days. Using tissues is the best way to contain a sneeze. Otherwise, wash that shirt, coat or item you sneezed into ASAP.
5. Wipe down your phone, computer, door knobs, counters, keys, etc., with a clorox wipe. Regular soap, not antibiotic is a good thing to wash your hands with. I use lavendar Yardley soap, but Ivory is also a good choice. Lysol spray can kill germs in the air if you need.
6. Buying groceries. Don't sample products. This is a no-brainer. Wipe cart down before using and have your list ready to power shop. Remember to wash hands afterwards. My personal hint is to use a clorox wipe on all canned products before putting in pantry.
7. And, keep doing what you love. Just be aware that washing hands is our greatest defense against this virus when we are out and about. Get some zinc lozenges, clorox wipes, regular soap, tissues and sterile gloves if it makes you feel better. #COVID
