After reading @WIRED staggering series of Airbnb stories, interesting to zoom in on individual 'places' in London. For example, here's a new, not-yet-complete neighbourhood of towers in Isle of Dogs - featuring 163 'entire homes' Airbnbs in a small area wired.co.uk/article/airbnb… 
Just 4 in King's Cross Central - Airbnbs
Olympic Park/East Village - 98 Airbnbs
City Island - 49 Airbnbs
Nine Elms - a staggering 300+ Airbnbs
Elephant & Castle - 140 'entire place' Airbnbs
Tottenham Hale - early days but already 12 Airbnbs
Interestingly zooming in on regeneration estates, sometimes things are misplaced on the map - take King's Crescent, which has 3 Airbnbs, but the 'homes' are pictured on vacant lots
Maiden Lane estate - 18 places
Zooming in on Hackney Wick, the new bits contain 46 'entire place' Airbnbs and it's not even finished yet, with a lot more development to come. Sad given this was once most dense, largest community of artists in Europe. Who wants to live in a hotel-city? We already do. What now?
How does this affect things like school places, when 'first' homes such as studios, 1 beds and two beds (where you might have your first baby) are hotels. 2016 vs 2019: First column is total primary school places, second is the no. of applications = vacancies = £ funding gap
Zooming out of London, here's Manchester Media City - not yet complete either, with 69 places to stay
Back to that school places spreadsheet - there are 600 kids missing from Hackney primary schools - could this Airbnb map have something to do with it featuring 2,283 Airbnbs, mostly 1 and 2-beds? Hackney house prices have grown by 78% in last 10 years, 289% in the last 20 years

Interesting to see Dalston - including Dalston Square regeneration project - 205 Airbnbs in a very small radius
