President Eisgruber updates #PrincetonU on next steps regarding #COVID19 to ensure the health and well-being of the entire community. bit.ly/2vQDvri
Our medical advisors tell us the best time to put in place policies to contain the spread of #COVID19 is now, before we begin to see cases on our campus.
To help mitigate the risk of #COVID19 transmission, we will begin instituting a series of policies and practices based on social distancing — we will virtualize any activities, such as lectures, seminars and precepts, that can be put online.
Starting on Monday, March 23rd, #PrincetonU will require a mandatory, temporary move for all lectures, seminars and precepts to virtual instruction.
We will also need to limit the number and size of campus gatherings and meetings, and restrict University-sponsored travel.
Students: We encourage you to stay home after spring break — the University will make sure you are able to meet your academic requirements remotely.
These new policies will be in place through Sunday, April 5th. We will reassess the policies as that date approaches and communicate any changes as early as circumstances permit.
These and other measures will cause significant disruption and inconvenience, but we strongly believe that actions taken now will help decrease risk, and that the potential consequences of not acting could far outweigh these short-term disruptions.
Please join in supporting these #COVID19 policies, which address a threat affecting us all.

#PrincetonU has always been a community that cares for one another, and we will need that spirit now more than ever.
In response to the continued spread of #COVID19, #PrincetonU is enacting new policies and practices based on social distancing that will be in place through at least April 5. bit.ly/39DEPwr
We encourage all members of #PrincetonU community to employ the following social distancing techniques:

🔘 Keep at least 6 feet between yourself and another person in all public places
🔘 Avoid close contact, including handshakes and hugging
🔘 Limit in-person meetings
Academics: All lectures, seminars, and precepts will move to virtual instruction beginning Monday, March 23.

Classes and mid-term exams will continue as planned, following social distancing protocols. bit.ly/38DCwYR
Spring break: Students are encouraged to stay home after spring break. Those who return to campus should be prepared for the fact that on-campus social activities and interactions will be severely limited.
On campus meetings and events: In-person meetings and events are strongly discouraged. Hosted events that involve more than 100 people or use more than one-third of their venue’s capacity must be postponed or canceled. bit.ly/2IA12Q5
Travel: All University-sponsored international travel is prohibited, and all personal international travel is strongly discouraged. Non-essential University-sponsored domestic travel should be postponed or canceled. bit.ly/38AkGWD
