Several House Democratic committee chairs emerged from Pelosi's office suite tonight and said they planned to move quickly on a whole host of bills aimed at bolstering the economy. The committees will move on legislation this week but it’s unclear when it will head to floor
Among the bills: paid sick leave, allowing for free testing for patients, expanding unemployment insurance, ensuring low-income children have access to food if their schools close and providing new protections for health care workers.
Pelosi would not commit to passing any of the legislation this week, per @tedbarrettcnn, saying they are still dealing with the process of writing the legislation, getting it scored by CBO. “I don’t know if we can pass it this week but we can introduce it.”
House will take its recess next week and return to finalize bills the week after. Schumer and Pelosi did not rule out the payroll tax cut Trump floated, but didn’t embrace it
