1. I did some analysis on individual donors to gauge the importance of down-ticket races to the supporters of presidential candidates. This is the percentage of unique donors that also donated to a House or Senate race. 
2. This shows a critical difference between Sanders and Warren supporters - who both want to see big, structural change. The Warren supporters get what it will take. Bernie has done his supporters no favors with his "anti-establishment" rhetoric.
3. Worth noting that this data only covers through end of year - Dec 2019. I'll be interested to see the shifts between Warren and Biden after Q1, but I'd be surprised to see much increase from Sanders.
4. Bernie speaks of “The Establishment” like Trump speaks of “The Deep State” - a willful and nefarious entity acting to personally thwart their agenda. In reality, Trump’s shadow monster is the civil service and Bernie’s is the bench cultivated by Democratic voters.
5. It’s the bench we tend to give rise to the majorities needed at all levels of government. Without it, there is no legislative power. There is no progress.
6. Purity over majority. No compromise, no incrementalism. Bernie’s movement is based on Bernie and his vision, not what's required to implement it. Their interest is in the ideology, not the process.
7. We can achieve change together, if everyone understands what it takes and where our focus needs to be. It's not going to be from one person at the top. It's going to be from the many at all levels of government. Every election matters - our seats are our power.
