It concerns me the physicians in Canada who deal with #Endometriosis that have affiliations with pharma. Is anyone speaking out about this? Or is this just a situation where everyone turns a blind eye? Or is it the belief that somehow they...have no bias?
Do they think #Pts are ignorant to this bias? That we should all just pretend it’s not there?
Please read if you haven’t already:

“Clinical guidelines, which recommend treatments and can expand disease definitions, are often produced by professional associations and written by people with financial ties to interested companies” bmj.com/content/367/bm…
I feel like I’m shouting out into a void. Is everyone too afraid to lose their funding, want to maintain the status quo etc. so this continues?
If you’re not a #pt, you do not see the damage the pharma industry has done to the #Endometriosis community. You don’t see how many people are put on palliative drugs.

But, apparently this is all ok?
There are problems when someone will say things like there is a diagnostic delay, but in the same breath say a laparoscopy isn’t necessary for treatment, but hey! Have some palliative drugs! All this while having a relationship with pharma.
Pharma has an objective to...shocker...sell more drugs. So it would be no surprise that papers coming out favouring Clinical Dx, avoid a laparoscopy because that’s dangerous or whatever else they want to say, happen.

This is damaging to #Pts. We need excision surgery.
Not in Canada, but I even saw a physician call a medication #Surgery in a Pill. 😱😱😱
