Ireland's decision to close schools is a big political dilemma for Boris Johnson.

He criticised other countries for knee-jerk action yesterday, but is feeling the pressure to announce something today (even if only promise of action next week) 1/
If he holds the line today, Britain will seem increasingly isolated from its neighbours.

This may well be the right decision.

But it means we really need to see the modelling on which it is based
Also - whisper it - the government doesn't actually want to delay the virus indefinitely. A virus to which no one is immune is going to spread eventually.

Goal is have as shallow a peak as possible in the summer - but not to push it all the way to next winter when NHS is busy
