Our ancestors used to wash their hands in, rub their bodies with, dip their coins in, make mouth guards steeped in, etc.: vinegar. Cheap, non-toxic, environmentally friendly, available anywhere, and above all: not sold out. Kills viruses and bacteria. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/29224…
The famous 16th-17th c. plague doctors wore these masks to stop viruses: they breathed through a sponge that had been dipped in undiluted vinegar and placed in the "beak". Did the vinegar kill aerosol viruses? We don't really know, but the masks certainly worked.
Sushi is the word for the vinegar-rice, not the fish (technically called sashimi). Did you ever wonder how medieval Japanese before the invention of refrigeration could eat raw fish in the middle of the summer? Its the vinegar in the rice. Wasabi helps too.
What else can you do with vinegar? Keep your feet and hair and clothes from smelling bad, sooth (and help kill bacteria) throat-aches, help fight dandruff, etc. etc.
You can also safely, cheaply, easily make vinegar at home, unlike isopropyl alcohol. thoughtco.com/how-to-make-ho…
